Field Service Technician, Power Generation

Job Description:

  • Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customer’s site
  • Completing repair activities on generators or components
  • Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of service
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools

Requirements:

  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required
  • Some overtime may be necessary based on workload
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required to support Branch territory coverage
  • Possibility of travel to support other locations with PG field workload as needed
  • A current valid license is required for this role
  • This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
  • 3 years driving experience
  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
  • Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
  • Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
  • Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
  • Current relevant electrical certification
  • Locally valid driving permit
  • Basic level field service work experience
  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products
  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience
  • Customer service experience
