Phone Research / Appointment Setter — Call Moving Companies, Log Quotes in Spreadsheet

I'm relocating from Seattle to Cleveland and need someone to run the front end of my mover search so I don't spend a week on the phone.

I've already done the research. You'll get a finished spreadsheet with a shortlist of moving companies, a call script with the exact questions to ask, and a tracker with the columns to fill in. You don't need any moving industry knowledge.

What I need is someone organized who is genuinely comfortable making outbound calls to US businesses and taking careful notes.

What you'll do

-Call moving companies from my shortlist (phone numbers and websites provided). The list is grouped into tiers, work top to bottom, Tier A first.

-Read them my prepared move summary, same script every time, so the quotes are comparable.

-Work through my list of 12 standard questions and record the answers in the tracker.

-Ask each company to email a written estimate, and forward/CC those to me.

-Where a company only takes web forms, submit the form using my prepared summary.

-Flag any company that won't answer the written-line-item questions, that's useful information, not a failure.

-Send me one short end-of-day summary each day you work.

What you will NOT do

-You will not book, sign, schedule, or pay for anything. No deposits, no contracts, no commitments of any kind. You gather information; every decision is mine.

-You will not be asked to provide any payment details, and I won't send you any.

-You won't need to handle my address or personal details beyond a general neighborhood and the city.

Requirements

-Available during 8am–5pm US Pacific time on at least three weekdays this coming week. This is the hard requirement, the companies you're calling keep Pacific business hours.

-Clear, confident spoken English and real comfort on the phone with businesses.

-Google Sheets competence, you'll be filling in a structured tracker.

-Reliable phone setup and quiet environment.

-Appointment setting, cold calling, lead research, or similar phone-based experience.

Deliverable

My tracker, filled in for every company you reached, plus forwarded written estimates and a short note on which companies were responsive and which weren't.

Budget & timeline

-I'd like this done within one week of hiring. I'll start with a paid trial of 2 calls at hourly.

-If the notes come back clear and complete, we will continue with the rest.
